Gameplay

The Great Red Herring Chase Gameplay

The user controlled yellow taxi tailing a "Red Herring" car.

Players control a female private eye riding in a taxi who's attempting to catch a criminal while following numerous red herrings.

To progress, players must type out commands to yell at the cabby so he can successfully tail cars. Commands initially start off basic, gradually increasing in length as the player completes each level.

Trivia

  • This game was code-named "Taxi Typer" during development.[1]
  • The game was announced on 2009-01-05[2] and was the first in a planned series of collaborations between Jiggmin and aeiowu that would've resulted in making one game every day for that month.[3]
  • Despite not finding a sponsor, the game was eventually released on Jiggmin's and aeiwou's websites several months after its completion unlike the other collaborations that couldn't get one.[4][5]
