The start block is a block type in the Platform Racing series.
Start blocks are used to indicate each player's starting position on a map. In Platform Racing 2 all users are automatically given a start block when a new course is created that are not intended to be deleted (although they can if the Start Inside Block glitch is preformed incorrectly). Otherwise, they will begin at the top left corner of the level.
The block was modified in Platform Racing 3 to be optional and so any number can be present, e.g. having two would start half players on one and half on the other. If one isn't on the map, users begin at the last added safe block.
- Unlike other types that aren't perfect squares, the start blocks in PR1/PR2 and its classic variant in PR3 have transparent white backgrounds. While likely done so the dots are visible on black backgrounds for the former, it's unknown why this was kept for the latter.
- Start blocks are not visible while playing levels in PR1 and PR2, though they are seen in PR3.
