The start block is a block type in the Platform Racing series.
Start blocks are used to indicate each player's starting position on the map. In Platform Racing 2 all users are automatically given a start block whenever a new course is created that are not intended to be deleted (although they still can be if the Start Inside Block glitch is preformed incorrectly). Otherwise, the affected member will begin the match at the top left corner of the level.
The block was modified in Platform Racing 3 so that it is optional and any number of them can be present on a map, e.g. having two would start half of the players on one and half on the other. If one isn't on the map, users will begin at the last safe block added to the course.
- Unlike other blocks that aren't perfect squares, the start blocks in PR1/PR2, as well as the classic variant in PR3 have half transparent white backgrounds. While likely done so the dots are visible on black backgrounds for the former, it's unknown why this was kept for the latter.
- Start blocks are not visible while actually playing the level in PR1 and PR2, although they can be seen in PR3.
