A Murder in Crowland (Originally A Murder in Crow Hell) is an unreleased first-person shooter Flash game developed by Jacob Grahn and aeiowu.
It was their fourth in a series of collaborations originally planned to result in them making one game every day for the month of January 2009.[1][2] While finished in terms of development, it wasn't released after it couldn't find a sponsor.[3]
Crowland was inspired by aeiowu's dislike of crows, saying: "Every winter they seem to grow in number. I know they are plotting up there in the thousands. I like animals and have much respect for living things, I don’t even kill ants/non-mosquito bugs, but crows are up to no good. This much is clear. [...] One day they will attempt to dethrone us from our roost at the top of the food chain."[1]
Gameplay[]
Players are placed in a field at night with the objective of shooting as many crows as possible.
Crows land on nearby tree branches and occasionally fly at the player, where they'll need to use a shield to block them.[4] Ammo is not unlimited, so they must move their cursor off-screen to reload.
