Bubbles! (Also known as Pop the Bubbles!) is the signature minigame of jiggmin.com developed by Jacob Grahn that was first released in April 2007.

Gameplay

Bubbles continuously float in a small frame from one side to another that the player can pop by hovering their cursor over them. There is no score tracker, giving the game more of a casual experience than competitive.

Original Version

The first variation of Bubbles! was introduced on Jiggmin's second website redesign and featured several notable differences from the more well-known second one. This version was located inside the website's header and featured horizontally moving bubbles from left to right.

The bubbles floated far more rapidly and were smaller in size, making them more difficult to pop. This version was available from the game's launch until early 2009.

Second Version

Jiggmin's third website redesign in 2009 brought another version of the game that permanently remained apart of the layout. As the header was no longer made in Flash, the game was bumped from it and placed in its own area below the sub-header.

Bubbles now float vertically from the bottom at a slower pace and are larger, allowing players to easily pop more bubbles and making the experience more laid-back.

Bats?

A special version titled Bats? was created for a Halloween skin in 2012 that replaced the staple bubbles with bats. While they retain the bubble's poppable traits, a confused "Pop?" comes out of them instead of "Pop!".

Trivia

  • Bubbles are the vehicles in Kongregate Racing.
  • A bubble was jiggmin.com's favicon at one point.[1]
  • Despite there being no place to type, the second and Bats? versions contain unused code for swear filters that are typically in Jiggmin's multiplayer games.
